Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get my pictures and order forms to you?

There are 2 ways to submit an order:

  1. If you live in our area, you may drop off your photos personally.  Please email us to set up an appointment for delivery.
  2. You may also print the order form online and send it, along with your payment and pictures to the address listed below.
Can I scan my own photos and send you the digital images rather than mailing my photos?

Yes!  You receive a 10% discount for submitting all photos in a digital format.  However, if you scan your own pictures, please scan them at a minimum of 300dpi resolution for best results. Otherwise if the image is too small, it may appear pixilated or blocky in the video.

How can I send my digital images to you?

There are several options for sending your digital pictures. We recommend that you burn them onto a CD and either drop them off to us or mail them to us along with your order form.  Or, you can email them to us.  Contact us for instructions if you plan to email them.

How long will it take for my project to be finished once I send you my materials?

The average completion time takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the overall complexity of your project and our workload at the time.  When possible, we will aim to complete your project in less time.  We do charge a rush fee for jobs requiring less than a week of turn-around time.

When do I need to pay you for your services?

You must pay at the time you place your order.  We accept cash, checks, money orders or PayPal.  Your completed order will be returned and shipped to you upon receiving payment.

Is there a limit to the size of photos I can send to include?

If you are submitting hard copies, we can use anything up to 8.5x11.  If you are submitting digital copies, we can use any size photos.  However, due to the resolution that DVDs use, anything bigger than 1600x1200 is unnecessary.

Can I use photos taken by a studio?

Due to copyright laws we cannot use studio photos without written permission from the studio.

How many photos should I use in my film?

This varies based on the length and tempo of the song(s) you choose.  We recommend that you use 30 photos per song (per 2.5-3 minutes).  Faster songs tend to use more photos and slower songs use less.

Can I include video in my film as well?

Videos add a great deal of quality and movement to your Photo Memory DVD.  Videos can be added to a film, in between a batch of photographs. We highly recommend then possible as it makes a film more interesting. We charge $10 for the first clip and $5 for each additional video segment added (they are usually just short clips but each clip is a maxiumum of two minutes each).  Videos must be carefully labeled with the exact time stamp on a post-it note and on the order form to avoid mix-ups.

What songs can I add to the film?

You can choose any type of music to accompany your Photo Memory DVD.  Due to copyright laws, you must bring or send us a copy of a purchased, original CD that includes your song.  If you do not own your song of choice, we can purchase it in your name for $1.

Can I designate titles for each group of photos?

Yes.  The film should have titles in the beginning and for each subsequent group of photos. We will create this title digitally for you and separate each section of the film.  See pricing information for more details.

Can I get additional copies of my Photo Memory DVD?

Each package comes with 2 copies of your Photo Memory DVD.  You can add additional copies for only $10 per DVD. Each copy comes with its own DVD case and disc label.

Is there a way I can rush a project?

There are situations where someone needs a film quickly. Under most circumstances, we can prepare the film within 24 hours of receipt and mail it the next day at an additional cost. The "rush" charge amount is $50 for a 24 hour turnaround time plus applicable overnight shipping charges.  Please see pricing information for more details on rushing a project.

How is the package shipped to me?

Your completed package is shipped to you via UPS. If you wish a different type of delivery, please contact us as to the costs associated with Priority shipping, overnight shipping or insurance.

How Should I Ship My Photos or Materials to You?

Photos - To prevent any bending during shipment, it is best to ship your photos in a box with cushion material. If you have various groupings, you can bind the pictures together by placing them in separate envelopes or in Ziploc bags. Label each group of photos with a title, number each photo and we will scan each grouping into a folder under that name.  Please be sure to contact us prior to sending your materials so that we can anticipate your project and schedule the work to begin. We will contact you by email when your package arrives.
